One backup is stored on the hard drive in a hidden partition. In the event of data loss you can do a fast restore from the hidden partition to the primary partition. By pressing F11 during boot you can restore the system back to the saved configuration.

The second backup is copied to bootable DVD's allowing restoration to a totally blank drive. (Included in your system packet.)
